One major thing that the most men and women of our generation are getting wrong is the concept of riches. They do not know what it takes to be rich, have success and fulfillment in life. One thing you must know is that to get rich and become fulfilled in life, you must invest your life on doing something, something profitable. The thing you invest your life on must be profitable and rewarding enough to provide what you need for a comfortable life, at least in the long run. The only thing that can give you this end is your own business.
Paid employment cannot do that for you, because in paid job, you undertake to do another man’s business for him. Be sure, your employer did not establish his business for you. He did for himself, to make him rich and comfortable. Everything that happens in that business is to satisfy the owner’s end. It is called maximizing the owners’ or shareholders’ wealth. And this is not bad. If you want something for your own satisfaction, you should go and establish your own business.
You cannot be rich working for somebody. Of course, working for someone can provide you the platform to learn and legitimately establish a model for lunching out on your own. No employer pays you in order for you to become rich or wealthy. Decision to be rich must of a necessity be a personal decision. Why does your employer pay you? He does for you to stay alive and have enough strength to build his business for him. In the corporate world, we may give many other laudable reasons why we pay our employee the wages we pay them.
However, the real reason in the core of our reasoning is for the employee to have enough strength to continue to work for us. Even when you are still in somebody’s employment, you must be sure that the employment is helping you and leading you to building your own someday. At every stage of your life, especially during your adulthood, you must consciously invest your resources-money, time and energy in identifying, starting, building and developing your own business. That is the only way to abundance, as far as money is concerned.
